JoJo’s self-portrait: a smiling yellow bee with curly antennae, drawn in pencil and coloured pencil

Hiii!

My name is Joanna (JoJo)! My pronouns are she/her and I play the violin, the piano, etc. I love to draw!

I also love to create and edit videos about TADC (The Amazing Digital Circus)! Who here ships Gangle and Zooble? I have a little sister.

I would like to thank my mom, my sister, my dad, and all my amazing friends for supporting me along the way. I would also like to thank Wen and Dilly who helped me publish my first book. And lastly, all the other wonderful teachers that I encountered in the making of all of my books.

my first book

Sal & Andy: Sal gets sick!

Sal & Andy: Sal gets sick! was the first ever book that I published, thanks to Wen and Dilly, whom I named a character after in one of my later books.

Sal was inspired by a snail plushie my mom bought me, and Andy was inspired by… I dunno.

I also included a special motif through the text where the first letter of a bug species also became the first letter of their name. Enjoy reading!

my second book

Squirmy & Sleepy Bird

This book was the second book I published in my life, thanks to my mom.

Sleepy Bird actually came before Squirmy through a doodle of 2 birds wearing scarves and hats. I drew that during a “very entertaining” science lesson at school.

Q&A

What is Felix’s friend’s name?
Felix’s friend is the moody flying ant. I originally made their name “Andrea” but when I screwed that up, I just decided that they wanted to keep their name private on purpose.
Why was the tarantula’s name in Squirmy and Sleepy Bird named Tilly?
The tarantula’s name, Tilly, was named after a stuffed tarantula that I got from Arizona.
Why does Sleepy Bird wear a scarf and a weird hat?
To hide her past life. I will share more info on that in a minicomic!
